Cat Rescued

May 29, 2008 Update - Update on Gabby. She is still at the vet's office and is getting lots of attention. She is eating and doing better than we expected. After shaving her down, we are not sure if she suffered chemical burns as originally thought, or if something else happened to her,or a combination of both, as her wounds run the gambit. Luckily, her stomach and underside were not harmed, but her tail, legs, feet, head, face, neck and parts of her shoulders and sides were. But as banged up as she is, she has such spirit. All at the vet clinic, and the volunteers who have stopped by the clinic to see her are shocked at how sweet and friendly she is-she likes to be petted, and doesn't seem to realize how banged up she really is. The new pictures show that she was harmed worse than we originally thought-and although the pics are pretty graphic, with the wounds out in the open now, we have a better chance of fully treating them. She is on antibiotics and medicated baths at this time. I will continue to update every few days so those interested can keep track of her recovery. Gabby is a trooper and is getting better, one day at a time.
