May 28, 2008 - This is Gabby. (because she likes to meow and purr) She was found May 27th in a grocery bag that had been thrown in a dumpster behind a long-stay hotel. Animal Control was contacted, and once they had picked her up, they realized she needed medical care. That's when ARK (Animal Rescue Klub) was contacted. We picked up Gabby and took her to the vet. She looks to have several wounds-some look to be chemical burns, others may have been inflicted with other instruments (it looks as if her ears may have been cut). Gabby is about 5 months old and even though she has gone through an awful ordeal of abuse, she still likes people and is always trying to purr. Whoever did this to her, abused a trusting, docile kitten who only wanted to be around people. She did nothing to deserve this kind of abuse. Animal Control is searching for any leads that can lead to the apprehension of the perpetrators of this horrendous abuse. She is currently at the vet office-undergoing treatment to try to stop infection and help her to heal. It will be a long process, but we know she is worth it.
